The Filter Explained:
I have for many years provided support for computers to my friends, family, and anyone who would let me offer assistance. What I have always seen when working with others who are not as technically inclined, is that some aspects of technology are confusing, and sometimes scary to non geeky people. That is why this site exists; it is my attempt to try to simplify aspects of technology, that people would otherwise pass by.
There are a ton of great resources on the internet to explain almost any topic, but where Filtered Geek is trying to stand out, is in the approach of the information being explained. I am not going to bore you with a ton of technical speak, or diving so deep into a subject that your head will spin. Filtered Geek is just like its name says; A filter placed upon geeky subject material, to try to simplify its purpose, to bring you to a level of knowledge to continue researching, or to even take the plunge with the item I am talking about. Filtered Geek is just trying to make technology approachable by everyday people!
At the end of most articles, additional information will be given, as a sort of "Filtered filter" if you want to dive further into a subject. Think of Filtered Geek as, technology 101.
Read up on what's great about technology, from a easier to understand point of view.
